Dolores M. Morgan, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, September 5th, peacefully at home.

Dolores was born in Pottsville on January 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Alvin & Arlene (Graeff) Kerschner.

She was the widow of Marlin E. Morgan, Jr. In addition to her parents & husband, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Hess, and infant son, Kenneth Lord.

She worked for Walk-In Shoe Co., Schuylkill Haven, from 1950-1970. Later she owned and operated a daycare in her home for 15 years until retirement.

Dolores was an active member of Christ Fellowship Church, Schuylkill Haven. She was involved in the Methodist Women’s Group, managed the church kitchen, and participated in multiple small group Bible studies.

She is survived by two sons: Kevin W. Lord, husband of Paula, Lake Wynonah, & Jeffrey Lord, partner of Shawna, Schuylkill Haven, her daughter, Teri Callaghan, wife of Brian, Pine Grove, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Charles Kerschner, partner of Ann, Schuylkill Haven.

Dolores loved motorcycle rides and deep-sea fishing. She enjoyed spending time in Fortesque, NJ, reading mysteries, and word searches.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Christ Fellowship Church, 420 Saylor St., Schuylkill Haven, on September 17th at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. A Viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Nancy L. Cooper
, 83, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Thursday while a resident of Schuylkill Center Nursing Home.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Jennie Ney Felty.

Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School. She then went on to achieve her nursing degree from Harrisburg Polyclinic School of Nursing. Nancy then went on to work for over 37 years at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville; working in the labor and delivery wing.

She was married to the late John T. Cooper in 1964.

Nancy was an active member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of several woman’s organizations in the area.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy is preceded in death by her sister Karen Cockill.

Nancy is survived by her sons, John Cooper husband to Jennifer of Auburn and Adam Cooper husband to Jody of Schuylkill Haven. She is also survived by four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Lehman.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Mary A. Smith, 93, of Butler Township, formerly of Pottsville, passed away September 1, 2025 at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in FosterTownship, May 9, 1932, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Nebroskie.

She had worked as a presser at local garment factories and also at a lamp factory. She was a member of ILGWU and union representative for Pine Shirt.

Mary was a member of St. Patrick RCC, Pottsville, and attended many Knights of Columbus events with her late husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Albert Smith, in 2014; brothers Frank Nebroskie, John Nebroskie, Joseph Nebroskie, Raymond Nebroskie, James Nebroskie, and Edward Nebroskie; sisters Irene Samay, Catherine Beury, and Jean Gibbas.

Surviving are her daughters Michelle Smith of Barnesville, Catherine Gownley Liptock and her husband Joseph of Seltzer; three grandchildren Jennifer Dube, Adam Gownley, Alex Maule; sisters Eleanor Ryan, Dorothy Majcher, and Theresa Bassininsky; three great grandchildren, neices and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 10th at Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville, PA 17954. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Knights of Columbus, Pottsville Council 431, P.O. Box 431, Pottsville, PA 17901.

James F. Barrett
, 85, Girardville passed away on Friday, September 5th at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Francis and Stella Barrett. Jim worked as a rehabilitation counselor for the state of Pennsylvania until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed reading, playing the guitar and was an all-around handy man.

He was an incredible family man who took great care of his wife of 67 years, Carol J. (Ryan) Barrett of Girardville; his four daughters: Donna Schell and her husband Robert of Liverpool; Susan Layton of William Penn; Penny Brouse and her husband Robert of Ringtown; and Patty Barrett of William Penn; his 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
