No Injuries Reported in Crash Late Saturday in Butler Township

BUTLER TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported late Saturday after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole along Germanville Road.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. near 390 Germanville Road.

Troopers say Juan Velez, 42, of Shenandoah was traveling east on Germanville Road and unfamiliar with the area.  He failed to recognize a left turn, went off the roadway and made impact with the utility pole, snapping it and bringing down wires onto the roadway.

Velez was able to get out of the vehicle before Butler Township emergency crews arrived. Upon being checked out by the Frackville Ambulance, he was not injured.

Germanville Road was closed for several hours as PPL crews worked to repair the damaged pole.

Fire companies from Englewood and Lavelle responded to the scene.
