Katherine A. Manzo, age 87, of Pottsville, PA , passed away Saturday, October 11th, 2025 at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on March 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Catherine (Tassone) Manzo.

Katherine was a proud graduate of Pottsville High School and worked for many years as a dedicated seamstress at Van Heusen. A lifelong member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville, she was a woman of quiet faith and strength.

She is lovingly survived by her great nieces and nephews of the Heimbaugh family, Rosemary Perreira, Joanne Underwood, and other cherished relatives.
In accordance with her wishes, services and interment will be held privately. Arrangements are under the care of the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon.

Tammy L. Cooney
, 54, of Shenandoah, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Girardville on February 2, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Cooney and her surviving mother, Patricia Thomas Cooney.

Tammy worked as a bartender and waitress locally and an activities director at the local nursing home. She loved her dog- Chooch, who passed away 2 years ago, but was an important part of her life. Tammy enjoyed walking in the woods, going fishing, rock-hounding, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Besides her father, Tammy was preceded by 3 brothers- Patrick, Michael, and Larry Cooney, and 1 sister- Arlene Becker.

Along with her mother Patricia, the surviving family includes her life partner- John Gedney, 2 sons- Keith Usalis and Stephen Usalis, 2 daughters- Rebecca Dixon with Brian and Kathleen Usalis, 3 brothers- Christopher Jones, Tommy Cooney, and Dennis Cooney, 5 sisters- Kimberly Jones Kacilowicz, Michelle Gulden, Peggy Cooney Monterosso, Kelly Wishnefsky, and Theresa Balliet, along with 6 grandchildren whom she adored- Eden Schopfer, McKenzie Fowler, Tanner Fisher, Aaron Fowler, Quinlyn Dixon, and Oliver Usalis.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 27th from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be conducted at 11:00am by Msgr. Ronald Bocian.

In her final act of kindness, Tammy was able to give the gift of life to others as she chose to be an organ donor for those in need.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service that will be held this Sunday, October 19th from 5 to 7 pm at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville.
