The invitational featured a unique course that both began and ended at North Schuylkill Elementary School. While much of the route followed the Spartan Cross Country Course, organizers added new elements this year, expanding the course to include areas around North Schuylkill High School, Cresswell Gardens, and the former Cardinal Brennan Campus. The variety of terrain offered runners both open stretches and technical sections, testing speed, endurance, and strategy.
The event was divided into three groups: Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, and Junior High.
Schools participating included North Schuylkill, Mahanoy Area, Shenandoah Valley, Weatherly, and Gillingham Charter.
Varsity Girls: North Schuylkill standout Genevieve Dando claimed first place with a time of 20:02.
Varsity Boys: Robert Espinal of Shenandoah Valley set the pace early and held strong, winning the boys’ race with an impressive time of 17:11.
Junior High Girls: Mikayla Pugh crossed the line first, continuing to build momentum in her young running career.
Junior High Boys: Javier Arias Granadas of Shenandoah Valley led the field
Following the races, all participants and coaches were treated to a lunch provided by Mrs. T’s Pierogies, a gesture that emphasized the company’s long-standing support of local athletics and traditions in Schuylkill County.
