Treatment Center Cited for Nearly Two Dozen False Fire Alarms in Butler Township

A Schuylkill County treatment facility has been cited after police say it was responsible for nearly two dozen false fire alarms over the course of a year.
According to court documents from Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli’s office, Butler Township Police cited the Gaudenzia Foundation Inc. on October 14, 2025, for multiple false alarms from an alarm device from their facility on Broad Street in Fountain Springs.

The filings state that between October 15, 2024, and October 14, 2025, the facility’s alarm system transmitted 20 false alarms.

Under Pennsylvania law, any person or entity that owns, uses, or possesses an alarm device or automatic dialing device may not cause or permit more than three false alarms within a consecutive 12-month period.

The organization will be fined for the incidents.
