Schuylkill County Man Convicted in 2022 Assault at Luzerne County Gentlemen’s Club

A Schuylkill County man has been convicted by a Luzerne County jury for assaulting a dancer during a private session at a gentlemen’s club in May 2022, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office announced Wednesday.

Miguel Antonio Nunez, 40, of Shenandoah, was found guilty Wednesday of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault following a three-day trial. His bail was immediately revoked and he was remanded to prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for April 2.

Attorney General Sunday said the verdict holds the defendant accountable for an attack that occurred despite the victim’s repeated refusals.

“The facts in this case show that the defendant did not have the victim’s consent to do what he did — that is assault, regardless of the setting,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I applaud the victim for having the courage to come forward and face her attacker and ensure he is held accountable for what he did to her.”

According to trial testimony, Nunez had purchased private dances with the victim while at the club. During those dances, he assaulted the woman as she repeatedly told him no.

The victim underwent a medical examination after the incident, which confirmed the assault and ultimately helped identify Nunez as the attacker.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Rachael Coleman.
