Edward Gavenas, 70, a lifelong resident of Shenandoah, passed away Monday evening, November 24th, 2025 while a guest at the Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.Ed was born in Shenandoah on April 4, 1955, a son of the late Charles and Anna Marie (Kubilus) Gavenas.
He was a kind hearted man who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He loved being "on the mountain" with his friends, and could always be found around the Shenandoah area, where he was employed locally as a masonry worker and in building demolition, along with doing many small jobs for those who asked for his help.
Ed is survived by an extended family of nieces and nephews, along with many friends.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to the Walukiewicz Oravitz-Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah.

Steve was born in Kaska on January 20, 1931, a son of the late Mary (Husick) and Steven Orlosky. He was one of eight children, (four boys & 4 girls).
Steve was married to Sally (Heim) the love of his life, for over 72 years, until her passing on October 30 of this year.
Steve graduated from Blythe High School, Class of 1949. After graduation he went to work at what became to be Schuykill Products in Cressona for a short time. Steve then enlisted in the US Army and served in Panama. After his service time he returned to Schuylkill Products and worked for over 50 years, retiring in 2013 from Northeast Prestressed Products at the age of 82.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
Steven is survived by two sons Steven E. Orlosky, husband of Donna and Leonard Heim, husband of Joanne; two sisters Helen Balulis (PA) and Mary Jacelin (MD); five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 9th at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. A public visitation will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 AM.
Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc. Schuylkill Haven.

Gerald L. "Jesse" Zimmerman, 85, of Pine Grove (Ravine) passed away peacefully Tuesday night, November 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.Born in Ravine, Saturday, July 6, 1940, a son of the late Thomas and Ada Stein Zimmerman. He served in the United States Army National Guard.
Gerald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, having owned and operated Gerald Zimmerman Saw Mill, Ravine for 62 years, retiring in 2023.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Ravine. Gerald was also a member of the Orwin, Northend, and the Mount Aetna Fire Companies and the Pine Grove VFW.
He enjoyed playing the guitar. Being "Pappy" to his grandchildren was the highlight of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy and Gloria Zimmerman; brothers, Franklin, Marlin "Pete", and Paul Zimmerman.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Faye L. Boyer Zimmerman; his three sons, Kevin Zimmerman, Troy Zimmerman, and Corey Zimmerman, all of Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Tobie Zimmerman, Rachael Smith, Emily Zimmerman, and Ava Zimmerman; one great grandson, Lucian Shiffer; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Gerald will be laid to rest in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Ravine.
