According to troopers, the incident began around 8:29 a.m. when multiple calls were received reporting a silver Ford Focus driving erratically on Interstate 81 before exiting onto Route 61 southbound.
Upon entering an active construction zone, the driver reportedly forced one vehicle off the roadway and rammed another vehicle three times. The vehicle then continued south on Route 61, striking multiple additional vehicles before the driver fled on foot.
Troopers say the driver was later taken into custody.
