Minersville Man Charged After Alleged Retail Theft at St. Clair Walmart

A Minersville man has been charged by St. Clair Police in connection with an alleged retail theft incident at the St. Clair Walmart earlier this year.
According to court documents, Adam Bump, 19, was charged with the following offenses stemming from an incident on June 14, 2025:
  • Retail Theft – Take Merchandise
  • Receiving Stolen Property
In the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the St. Clair Police Department, stated he received a case file regarding an internal retail theft investigation involving Bump.

The incident reportedly occurred on June 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., at Walmart Store, located at 500 Terry Rich Boulevard, in St. Clair.

According to the affidavit, information was provided to police by a Walmart Asset Protection employee, along with a case file containing photographic and video surveillance evidence. Review of store CCTV footage reportedly showed Bump shopping for merchandise inside the store.

Police allege Bump selected a gray-colored tote and placed it inside a closet display located near the grocery entrance. He then selected a Pen+Gear large personal safe, Model 23NEK, and placed it inside the closet, passing all points of sale without making any attempt to pay for the item.

The affidavit further states Bump proceeded to the back corner of the lawn and garden section of the store, where he placed additional merchandise into a shopping cart. He then returned to the closet area, loaded all of the merchandise into the cart, and exited the store without attempting to pay.

According to police, Bump left the store at approximately 10:57 p.m., passing all points of sale with the unpaid merchandise.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for January 27, 2026, at 12:15 p.m., before Edward M. Lewis, interim Magisterial District Judge.
