Ringtown Man Charged After Alleged Assault Involving Pistol and Hot Soup

A Ringtown man is facing multiple charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he assaulted his wife during a violent altercation in Shenandoah on December 5, 2025.
Aaron P. Lorah, 37, of Ringtown, was arraigned Friday night before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker on charges of simple assault (M2), terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another (M1), and harassment (S). Bail was set at $25,000 monetary, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 18, 2025 at 10:15 a.m., also before Judge Kilker.

According to charging documents, troopers from PSP–Frackville were dispatched around 5:02 p.m. after receiving a call from the victim. She reported that her husband had struck her in the face with what appeared to be a black pistol during a verbal dispute inside their vehicle near Francesco’s Ristorante & Gourmet Pizzeria in Shenandoah.

The victim also told troopers that Lorah threw hot soup on her and, after dropping her off at their West Main Street residence in Ringtown, threatened to return and kill her. She provided police with a photo of the weapon, which appeared to be a black handgun.

Troopers contacted Lorah, who agreed to come to PSP–Frackville for an interview. He arrived at approximately 6:40 p.m. and was placed under arrest.

According to the affidavit, Lorah waived his Miranda Rights and told investigators the dispute. He alleged that she struck him with a soda can and slapped him with two slices of pizza. Lorah said he “might have” hit her with his hand but denied using a firearm, claiming the pictured gun was an airsoft replica that was not present during the altercation.

Lorah granted troopers consent to search his vehicle for the alleged airsoft gun. The search did not locate a weapon, but police observed food debris throughout the vehicle consistent with the described altercation.

Lorah remains locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.
