A rally and candlelight vigil are scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, at Garfield Square in Pottsville (4th and West Market Streets). The event is being organized by the Schuylkill County Democratic Committee (SCDC) in coordination with national organizations including the No King’s/50501 movement and the Women’s March.
The event will take place in two parts. A No King’s Rally is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a candlelight vigil from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. focused on those affected by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.
Organizers say the rally is part of a nationwide day of action, while the vigil is intended to recognize individuals impacted by immigration enforcement activity.
The event is open to the public and will take place outdoors at Garfield Square.
