Born Thursday, April 7, 1932 in West Penn Township the son of the late Milton N. and Mabel (Miller) Bailey. Curtis was also predeceased by; son, Curtis D. Bailey.; sisters, Helen Wertman, Rachel Evertt, Bertha Bennick; brothers, William, Herman, Robert, James, and Clarence Bailey.
In addition to his wife Curtis is also survived by; son, Kevin A. Bailey and his wife Karen; daughter, Bonnie Stenburnn; 5 grandchildren, Kevin Bailey and his wife Nicole, Kelly Sears and her husband Jonathan, Matthew Bailey and his wife Danelle, Jason Stenburnn, Lauren Stenburnn; 7 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
Curtis was a man defined by hard work and craftsmanship. A 1949 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he began his career as a mason before founding Curtis J. Bailey Builders in 1961. Over the decades, he transformed the landscape of Northeast Pennsylvania, earning a reputation for excellence in home building and land development. Curtis also owned Bailey Building Supplies in West Penn Township. In his youth Curtis would Butcher on his family's farm.
Beyond his professional success, Curtis was a tireless servant to his community. A lifelong member of the West Penn Lions, a Melvin Jones awardee, Curtis was a Past President, served as District Governor and Zone Chairman for District 14-U. A member of the Tamaqua Salvation Army Board of Directors, Curtis was Chairman of the advisory Board and building committee. Curtis was a member of the Former Home Savings and Loan Board of Directors of Tamaqua, and Associate Director for the Pennsylvania National Bank. Curtis was a board member of T.I.D.E, belonged to the West Penn Fire Co., and Andreas Sportsman Club. An avid outdoorsman, Curtis enjoyed watching the Phillies and Fox News was a constant. Curtis was a recipient of the Tamaqua Citizen of the Year award.

Janet M. Martinaitis, R.N., 76 a resident of Schuylkill Center, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.
She was born March 15, 1949, in Pottsville a daughter of the late George and Irene Hoffman Martinatitis.
She was a graduate of Marian High School and the former Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse at the former Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic Prior to retiring at 42 years.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Martinaitis.
Janet is survived by a brother, Gary Martinaitis and his wife Dorothy, New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Martinaitis, Camp Hill.
Funeral Services and Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Janet be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Patricia L. Mahoney, 64, a resident of Auburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 8th ,2026 at the Geisinger-St. Luke's Hospital in Orwigsburg.Patsy was born in Fayetteville, NC on June 9, 1961, a daughter of the late Herman and Patricia (Pope) Newell.
She married her husband, Patrick Mahoney and became a military wife, traveling throughout the continental United States and Germany during his career, before settling in Colorado after his retirement from the military. They spent several years in Colorado while Patrick worked as a police officer, eventually retiring as a detective from the Colorado Springs Police Department. It was then that the Mahoney family returned to the Schuylkill County area, where they continued to raise their family.
Patsy was an avid photographer and gardener, who also enjoyed animals, puzzles and reading. She loved children, especially her own, being a proud mother of six.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brandon in 2012, and an infant son Christian, at birth.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Patrick Mahoney, along with their children, Michael and his wife Megan; Matthew; Amanda; Patrick and Edward. A granddaughter, Millie also survives as does a brother, Hal Newell and a sister, Ruth, wife of Harry Troutman. along with one nephew.
Patsy is also survived by her miniature Jack Russel, Minnie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville, at 11 AM on Thursday, January 15th, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
