Schuylkill Technology Center Students Launch 2nd Annual “Huggable Heroes” Teddy Bear Drive

Students in the Early Childhood Care and Education program at Schuylkill Technology Center are once again working to bring comfort to children in need through their 2nd Annual Huggable Heroes Teddy Bear Drive.

The student-led initiative collects new teddy bears that will be donated to local police departments throughout Schuylkill County. The bears are intended to be given by officers to children during stressful or traumatic situations, helping provide comfort, reassurance, and a sense of safety when they need it most.

The teddy bear drive will take place at both Schuylkill Technology Center campuses, with the first drop-off date beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Community members, families, and local businesses are encouraged to donate new teddy bears to support the effort.

Each donated bear will be distributed to police departments, giving officers a simple but meaningful way to help children cope during emergencies, accidents, or other difficult encounters.

Additional details, including drop-off locations and contact information, are listed on the official event flyer provided by the students.

Organizers say even a single donated bear can make a big difference.
