State Police Investigating Nearly $29,000 Wire Fraud in Schuylkill County


Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating a theft by deception and wire fraud incident that resulted in nearly $29,000 being stolen from multiple victims in Schuylkill Township.
According to a Public Information Release Report, troopers were dispatched to Schuylkill Township in December 2025 for a report of fraudulent activity involving bank accounts.

State Police say unknown actor(s) gained unauthorized access to the bank accounts of two victims and conducted several unauthorized wire transfers.

Investigators report approximately $2,271 was taken from a 77-year-old male victim and approximately $27,562.01 was taken from a 73-year-old female victim, both of Tuscarora. A third individual, a 49-year-old male from Tuscarora, is also listed as a victim in the incident.

In total, authorities say $28,832.01 was stolen as a result of the fraudulent activity.
