HEGINS - A strong second-half surge powered Tri-Valley to a 39-33 victory over Halifax in a tightly contested girls basketball matchup on Saturday.
The teams traded momentum throughout the first half, with Halifax holding a slim 9-7 edge after one quarter before Tri-Valley battled back to tie the game 15-15 at halftime. Coming out of the break, the Lady Bulldogs found their rhythm, edging ahead 26-25 by the end of the third quarter and never relinquishing the lead down the stretch.

Tri-Valley was led by Avery Miller, who poured in 23 points to anchor the offense and provide key baskets in the final eight minutes. Ava Snyder added nine points, while Ivy Sankas chipped in four. Paige Sitlinger and Lily Hanlon rounded out the scoring with two and one points, respectively.

Halifax was paced by Lauren Sharbaugh, who finished with 19 points, keeping the Wildcats within striking distance throughout the night. Bebe Roland and Aleigha Gruzlewski each scored five, while Lylah Thomas and K. Nace added two points apiece.

With the win, Tri-Valley improves to 3-9 on the season, hoping to build momentum as they focus back on league play.  The Lady Dawgs will prepare to travel to Williams Valley on Monday night for their next Schuylkill League Division 2 game.
