Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating after a driver fled from a traffic stop Friday afternoon in the City of Pottsville.
According to state police, the incident occurred on March 6, 2026, at approximately 3:56 p.m. when a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a white Honda Accord at the intersection of Route 61 and West Norwegian Street.
Police said the vehicle was displaying Pennsylvania registration LCL0734, but the registration did not return any valid information in the system.
When the trooper asked the driver to provide a driver’s license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration, the individual was unable to produce the requested documentation.
The driver was then asked to exit the vehicle. Instead, police say the individual placed the vehicle in drive and fled the scene, leading troopers on a short vehicle pursuit.
According to the report, the driver eventually parked the vehicle and fled on foot, possibly entering a residence on the 800 block of West Norwegian Street in Pottsville.
State Police provided a photo of the suspect and are asking the public for helping in identifying him. Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the Schuylkill Haven Barracks by calling (570) 754-4600
