Fourth “No Kings” Rally Held in Schuylkill County

The Schuylkill County Democratic Committee (SCDC) held a “No Kings” rally on Saturday at the intersection of Centre and Market Streets in Pottsville.
The event, which ran from 11:00 a.m. to noon, marked the organization’s fourth rally under the “No Kings” theme. Organizers previously held similar gatherings along Route 61 in St. Clair and at Garfield Square in Pottsville.

According to the original announcement from the SCDC, the rally was intended to be a peaceful demonstration, encouraging participants to bring signs and “their voices” to express their views.

On Saturday, attendees gathered at the busy downtown intersection holding signs and chanting messages against President Donald Trump. The demonstration remained orderly throughout its duration.

A small group of President Trump supporters stood with Trump flags and had drove up and down Centre Street during the rally.

Pottsville Police also remained nearby to keep the crowd and anti-protestors orderly.

The Pottsville rally was part of a larger coordinated effort, with reports indicating that more than 3,000 similar rallies were held across the country on the same day.

No incidents or disruptions were reported in connection with the local event.
