According to court documents filed by the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident occurred on February 21, 2026, at a residence on 19 Jane Avenue.
Police say they responded to the home around 10:37 p.m. for a report of an assault that had taken place earlier that evening.
Investigators reported that the mother of the juvenile victim, told police that a verbal argument occurred around 1:30 p.m. between the child and Jarret Matthew Donetti, 35.
During the argument, the child allegedly spoke back in what was described in court documents as a “cocky manner,” which angered Donetti.
According to the affidavit, Donetti allegedly grabbed the boy, forced him to the ground, and punched him once on the right side of the face. Police say the strike caused significant injury, including major swelling and bruising.
Later that evening, the child’s condition reportedly worsened and he was taken to the hospital around 11:00 p.m.
Medical staff diagnosed the child with:
- Facial contusion
- Closed fracture of the right orbital floor
- Aggravated Assault – Victim Less Than 13 and Defendant 18 or Older (Felony 1)
- Simple Assault (Misdemeanor 2)
- Endangering the Welfare of Children (Misdemeanor 1)
Court records indicate that Donetti posted bail on Thursday, March 5, 2026, and was released.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2026, before Magisterial District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek in Orwigsburg.
