Man Charged Following Early Morning Stabbing in Shenandoah

A Shenandoah man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he stabbed his brother during an incident early Sunday morning, leaving the victim with a life-threatening injury.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Shenandoah Borough Police, officers were dispatched around 3:03 a.m. on April 26, 2026, to the 500 block of West Coal Street for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, Patrolman Mindy Parker-Petrus made contact with the victim, who was found bleeding heavily from a puncture wound to his neck. First aid was administered at the scene before the victim was transported by the Frackville Community Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Authorities said the victim later required surgery for the injury.

Despite a language barrier, the victim initially told police he had been stabbed by his brother. Later in the day, after surgery was completed, police conducted a follow-up interview at the hospital with the assistance officer Vazquez, who spoke Spanish. During that interview, the victim identified his brother, 26-year-old Esteban Jaejuc, of Shenandoah, also known as Gregorio Chen Suc, as the assailant.

Jaejuc was taken into custody Sunday afternoon without incident.

Following arraignment by on-call Magisterial District Judge James Reiley in Pottsville, Jaejuc was committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $25,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7th, 2026, before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker in Shenandoah.
