WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Schuylkill County Until Early Monday

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Schuylkill County and much of eastern and central Pennsylvania.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1:00 a.m. Monday.

Schuylkill County is among 31 Pennsylvania counties included in the watch area.

Schuylkill County should expect to see rain and thunderstorms between 8pm and 11:00pm ending in rain after midnight.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means atmospheric conditions are favorable for severe weather to develop. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning, however, indicates that severe weather is occurring or imminent and that immediate protective action should be taken.

In addition to Schuylkill County, the watch includes Berks, Carbon, Columbia, Dauphin, Lackawanna, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northumberland, Susquehanna, Wayne, Wyoming, and numerous other counties across eastern Pennsylvania.

Skook News will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates should any warnings be issued for Schuylkill County.
