Robert Elsworth Kroh, of 31 Center Street in Kelayres, was charged by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General following an investigation that began with a referral from the FBI.
According to the criminal complaint filed on June 30, 2026, an undercover law enforcement officer posed as a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat and later communicated with Kroh via text messaging.
The complaint alleges Kroh expressed intentions to travel from Pennsylvania to Connecticut to meet the minor for sexual purposes and engaged in detailed sexual discussions. He also reportedly sent photos of himself and his residence. Communications reportedly occurred between late February and late May 2026.
On June 30, 2026, agents from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the FBI, and Kline Township Police executed a search warrant at Kroh’s home. A forensic examination of his Samsung Galaxy A52 5G cellphone reportedly uncovered multiple videos and images of child sexual abuse material, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Kroh faces the following charges in Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli’s court:
Court records indicate Kroh was on parole at the time for a prior 2023 felony Theft by Deception conviction in Schuylkill County.
