Panther Valley opened its girls volleyball season with a 3-0 varsity victory over Shenandoah Valley on Saturday.
Panther Valley controlled the first two sets, winning 25-14 and 25-11. Shenandoah Valley responded with a stronger performance in the third set, but Panther Valley prevailed 26-24 to complete the sweep.
Jaelynn Browdy led Panther Valley with six kills, 15 assists, 10 service points, three aces and eight digs. Sophia Patton recorded 15 service points, five aces, four kills, three assists and four digs.
Danika Blazosky added five kills, eight assists, one block, four service points, one ace and three digs for Panther Valley.
Jocelyn Chagolla led Shenandoah Valley with five kills, 15 digs, four service points and one ace. Aubrie Monaghan contributed three kills, one assist, 18 digs and five service points.
Brittany Tufts finished with two kills, 11 assists, 10 digs, two service points and one ace for Shenandoah Valley.
In the junior varsity match, Shenandoah Valley earned a 2-0 victory.
Panther Valley will host Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School on Monday, August 31. Shenandoah Valley will travel to Weatherly on Tuesday, September 1.
