Tyshon Myjet La Handley, 35, of Pottsville, is charged in separate criminal cases filed by Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville and Pottsville Police.
The first alleged incident occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, July 31, 2026, in New Castle Township.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by State Police, troopers were dispatched around 4:21 a.m. to 71 Mall Road, at ID Logistics, for a reported physical disturbance.
Police said Handley, a woman and another man had been inside a parked SUV near the ID Logistics facility.
Handley allegedly told investigators that he believed the woman "wanted loving" and acknowledged grabbing her neck, but claimed the interaction was mutual and denied touching her sexually without her consent.
The woman provided investigators with a different account during a follow-up interview.
According to the affidavit, she alleged Handley suddenly began touching her sexually before grabbing her by the head and neck. Police said Handley then allegedly attempted to force her head toward his genitals while attempting to pull down his sweatpants.
The woman told police she attempted to pull away before the other man inside the vehicle intervened and stopped Handley.
Police said the other man corroborated portions of the woman's account, telling investigators he saw Handley grab her by the head and neck and attempt to pull her head toward his genitals. According to the affidavit, the witness said he intervened and believed Handley would have sexually assaulted the woman had he not stopped him.
In that case, Handley is charged with misdemeanor indecent assault without consent along with summary offenses of harassment and disorderly conduct.
Second Incident Alleged Five Days Later
Handley is facing additional and more serious charges stemming from a separate incident that allegedly occurred five days later in Pottsville.
According to an affidavit filed by Pottsville Police, officers were dispatched around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, to 216 Howard Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering and possible sexual assault in progress.
Police said officers found that a lower-level window had allegedly been opened, providing access to a bathroom. Officers then reportedly heard a woman screaming from inside the apartment and entered.
Police encountered Handley inside and detained him.
The tenant allegedly told police she had been asleep when she awoke to find Handley standing in her bedroom.
According to the affidavit, Handley sat at the foot of her bed and spoke with her before allegedly placing his head underneath her blanket and kissing her vagina.
The victim told police she feared for her safety and discreetly began texting her mother for help.
Her mother contacted 911 and arrived at the apartment shortly afterward. Police said they reviewed the text conversation in which the victim allegedly told her mother that Handley had broken into the apartment and that she feared she would be hurt and raped.
Investigators also reported viewing a short video allegedly recorded by the victim showing Handley on top of her, which police said corroborated her account.
Handley was charged in the Pottsville case with first-degree felony burglary, second-degree felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor indecent assault without consent.
Court records show Handley was arrested August 5 and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley. Bail was set at $75,000 monetary, and Handley was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post bail.
His preliminary hearing in the Pottsville case, originally scheduled for August 10, was continued and is now scheduled for August 24 at 10:00 a.m. before Reiley.
