Motorists should prepare for daytime lane restrictions on Interstate 81 and Route 54 this week in Schuylkill County as PennDOT maintenance crews complete pothole patching and drainage work.
Interstate 81 North - Mahanoy Township
A lane closure is scheduled on Interstate 81 North between Exit 124 (Frackville, Route 61) and Exit 131 ((Mahanoy City, Route 54) from Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17.
PennDOT maintenance crews will patch potholes daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Interstate 81 South - Mahanoy Township
Pothole patching is also planned on Interstate 81 South between Exit 124 (Frackville, Route 61) and Exit 131 (Mahanoy City, Route 54).
A daytime lane closure will be in effect Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 17, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Route 54 - Butler Township
Route 54 will be restricted between Route 61 and Lavelle Road while PennDOT maintenance crews perform drainage work.
Flaggers will control traffic through the work area from Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The projects are not expected to be delayed by rain. Drivers should allow additional travel time, watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution while traveling through the work zones.
