The Schuylkill County Historical Society has announced a fall schedule featuring paranormal investigations, haunted history tours, local history programs and holiday-themed Pysanky egg workshops.
Pottsville After Dark: Paranormal Investigation
The Pottsville After Dark Series will bring guests inside the historic halls of the Schuylkill County Historical Society for an immersive paranormal investigation at .
The evening will begin with an introduction to the building’s history and the investigative equipment participants will use. After learning the basics of paranormal investigation, guests will divide into smaller groups to explore the building.

Haunted History Walking Tours of Downtown Pottsville

The Society will lead Haunted History Tours through downtown Pottsville at , and again at .
The walking tours will explore Pottsville’s eerie past through local legends, reported ghostly encounters and stories of spectral sightings, all set against the city’s history.
Admission: $10 for Society members and $15 for the general public. Registration is required.
Fate and Family: A Story of Cressona and the Civil War
Orwigsburg resident Robert McCloy will discuss the experiences of his ancestors from Schuylkill County and Virginia during and after the Civil War at .
The program will explore the remarkable circumstances that eventually brought the two sides of his family together.
Admission: Free for Society members and $5 for nonmembers.
Haunted History Tour of Charles Baber Cemetery

The Society will host a haunted history walking tour through Charles Baber Cemetery at .
Participants will walk among the resting places of notable figures from Schuylkill County’s past while hearing their stories told with a chilling historical twist.
The tour will meet at the cemetery, located at 1400 W. Market St., Pottsville.
Admission: $10 for Society members and $15 for the general public. Registration is required.
The Headless Ghosts of Schuylkill County
Local author Richard Bigg will share tales of headless miners, witchcraft, strange coincidences and tragic railroad accidents from Pennsylvania and New York at .
The Halloween-season program will be held at the Historical Society.

America 250: Olde Thyme Toys

Renowned folk artist Georgine Postupak-Borchick will lead three hands-on, Christmas-themed Pysanky egg workshops at the Historical Society.
