THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR... NORTHEASTERN SCHUYLKILL COUNTY IN CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...

* UNTIL 515 PM EDT

* AT 436 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS OF 60 TO 70 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED OVER TUSCARORA...AND MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... MAHANOY CITY...POTTSVILLE...ST. CLAIR...TAMAQUA...COALDALE... DELANO...GRIER CITY-PARK CREST...HOMETOWN...LOCUST LAKE STATE PARK...MCKEANSBURG...MCADOO...NEW BOSTON-MOREA...NEW PHILADELPHIA...PORT CARBON...SNYDERS...TUSCARORA...BROCKTON... CUMBOLA...KASKA AND KELAYRES. THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 81 FROM MILE MARKERS 128 TO 139.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE AREA. ALTHOUGH A TORNADO IS NOT IMMEDIATELY LIKELY...IF ONE IS SPOTTED...ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IN A STURDY STRUCTURE...SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL INTERIOR ROOM. THE THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE DAMAGE. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM...AND MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS.
