Road Reopens near Ashland

Late Thursday, PennDOT announced they would be closing Route 61 between Ashland and Centralia due to a hole opening in the road.


PennDOT reports that the hole opened when a drainage pipe beneath the road collapsed.  Road crews were on site midday Friday and repaired the hole.

The road is now open again but crews will be back next week to repair the drainage pipe.
