Man Charged with Alleged Child Pornography

A Schuylkill County man is facing charges of alleged Child Pornography.

According to State Police, In October 2016 a tip from the National Center for Missing And Exploited Children indicated that an individual was uploading alleged child pornography. 

After reviewing the tip information, an investigation determined additional tips were associated with the same computer IP address. The investigation revealed Brian Tate, 34, of Gordon, was the alleged perpetrator of the crimes. 

Police said Department of Homeland Security had also been chatting with Tate online and had a parallel investigation.  

In the course of the investigation, Tate had requested from an adult female that he meet her 6 year old daughter for sex. 

A meeting was set at a Pottsville Hotel on 11/9/16 where Tate arrived for the meeting and was arrested. 

Pennsylvania State Trooper Anthony Reppert charged Tate with Distribution of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, and Criminal Use of a Communication facility. Tate was taken for arraignment to Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $150,000 straight bail. 

Tate will also be charged Federally by HSI agents for numerous crimes including Traveling to have sex with a minor.
