Yuengling Ice Cream Receives Awards at World Dairy Expo Championship

ORWIGSBURG, PA – After placing twice in the New Jersey State Ice Cream Festival in July, Yuengling’s Ice Cream brought home two more awards from the World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest in August .

Yuengling’s submitted its Vanilla to the Regular Vanilla category, where a panel of 10 judges voted for their favorite. Only plain vanilla flavors were able to be submitted in this category; Yuengling’s placed second.

Along with Vanilla, Yuengling’s submitted its Chocolate to the Regular Chocolate category. In this category, the judges voted on their favorite plain chocolate flavor; Yuengling’s took third place.

The World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest features 71 product classes from companies all throughout North America. It has become one of the fastest growing and most innovative dairy product contests, having increased 15 percent from last year to having 1,055 contestants in the 2014 competition.

“We are so proud to have placed in the only two categories we entered our ice cream,” said David Yuengling, president of Yuengling’s Ice Cream. “It’s exciting to see our ice cream rank amongst the top in North America, especially after returning to the industry so recently.”

Winners of this year’s World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest will be recognized at the annual World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin from September 30 through October 4.
