Hazleton School District Reports Suspected Case of Mumps

Parents and Guardians who have a student in the Hazleton Area School District were notified Friday of a suspected case of mumps in the district.


According to the letter sent home to students, students and staff who have had two doses of the mumps vaccine and have no symptoms do not need to take any steps further other than to notify your student's school nurse so that it's on record.

Students and staff with symptoms of the disease should be excluded from school/work for five days after onset of parotitis/mumps.
