Mahanoy Area to Reopen Wednesday After Bomb Threat

For the third time this school year, Mahanoy Area dismissed students early due to a specific bomb threat to the school district on Tuesday.

The district found a threat in a middle school bathroom that forced students to be evacuated, then dismissed.

Police are investigating.

We spoke with Mahanoy Area Superintendent Dr. Joie Green Tuesday evening,

"The schools are safe and school will reopen Wednesday.  Dogs were brought in Tuesday and nothing was found.  We are all clear and safe for tomorrow.

There will be no breakfast for Middle School students on Wednesday morning as they are to report directly to a meeting with Principal Heater in the auditorium."
