The Mahanoy City Police posted the following via their Facebook page Wednesday morning.
The Mahanoy City Police have filed charges with the Schuylkill County Juvenile courts against a 13 yr old female in connection with a threat at the Mahanoy Area School on Dec 10th.
On Dec 10th , Mahanoy City officers were dispatched to the Mahanoy Area Middle School for yet another threat written on the wall of the 1st floor girls bathroom. Writing on the wall indicated that the student was going to bomb the school.
Mahanoy Area school administration was able to identify the student who wrote the threat. The student later admitted to writing the threat.
Allegations against the student include Terroristic Threats, Threat to use weapons of Mass Destruction and Institutional vandalism. The procedures implemented by the School District following threats earlier in the year aided in the quick identification of the student responsible and being able to rapidly determine that there was no risk to other students.
