Police and Banks Warn of Phone Scam

On Friday, local banks and police began warning residents and customers of a phone scam.

Skook News has received numerous reports of phone scams occurring around the county.  Our followers have stated that they receive a phone call from someone saying they are from an area bank and they inform the person that their card has been captured and they then proceed through instructions for them to receive a new card.

Through the process they ask for your card number and expiration date.

Area banks reported they will never call you and ask you for information.

Anyone receiving these kind of calls should call their local police.  If you did give out your information to one of this calls, you should call your bank immediately.

Some local banks have already made announcements regarding this.
