Yeager Announces Bid for Republican Nomination for Pottsville City Council

Jack Yeager, 59, of Pottsville announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for Pottsville City Council on Friday morning. In order to be nominated, he is asking Republican voters to write-in his name in the May 19th primary.

"I humbly ask for the voters of Pottsville for their consideration to write me in on their ballot in the primary election," Yeager said.

"After two decades of officiating, I believe the current administration has struck out at bat," Yeager added.

Born and raised in Pottsville, Yeager is a 1974 graduate of Pottsville High School. Yeager is not new to public service. He serves as a PIAA official, officiating in baseball and softball, and a 30 year member of Pottsville Rotary Little League. Yeager is a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, where he is a former CCD teacher. He also is an active member of the West End Fire Company, Pottsville, and the Mechanicsville Fish & Game.

If elected, Yeager said he will help to increase the enforcement of the Blight Task Force to fight absentee landlords, as well as working with the Pottsville Police department to continue to keep the safety of the citizens the number one priority.
