Pennsylvania Department of Health Warns of Imposter Letters

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Department of Health has received reports in Dauphin and York counties of an imposter letter to homeowners stating that their homes are in violation of local housing codes and that the violations must be remedied or a fine will be imposed.

The letter uses an outdated Health Department logo and contains the fraudulent signature of the current Secretary of Health.

The Department of Health has no authority to enforce private housing codes.

Local law enforcement authorities have been notified.
