Fire Damages Penn Equipment in Port Carbon

Around 2:00PM Friday, fire crews were called to Penn Equipment on Main Street in Port Carbon for a working structure fire.

The fire reported started in the roof of the building and spread.

The fire was under control in just over an hour, but crews remained on scene for hours for cleanup and overhaul.

Fire crews called out of the building at one point due to water issues.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

One person was said to have been in the building at the time of the fire.

Port Carbon, St. Clair, Walker Twp., Middleport, Cressona were called to fight the fire while Schuylkill Haven and Pottsville crews were called for their RIT.

We apologize if there are any crews we may have missed.
