Man Dies from Injuries from Girardville Fire

A man who was rescued from a fire in Girardville Friday morning has died.


Emergency personnel were called around 7:15am to a working structure fire in Girardville.

The fire was located at 529 and 527 East Mahanoy Ave.

Early reports were that 2 people were trapped but both were rescued and transported to an area hospital. 4 other victims escaped the fire as well.

The Republican Herald is now reporting that Edward Willis, one of the victims who had to be rescued, has died from his injuries.
