Mrs. T's Pierogies Founder Passes Away

The founder of Mrs. T's Pieorogies, Ted Twardzik Sr. passed away on Wednesday.

The company issued the following statement on Thursday.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our founder Ted Twardzik, Sr. We honor his legacy here at Mrs. T’s Pierogies and his impact in Shenandoah and the surrounding communities. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

According to the company's web site, Ted Twardzik started the company in 1952. Twardzik's mother Mary was known for making the best homemade pierogies in Shenandoah. After returning from college with a degree in business, he had a vision: why not sell his Mom’s pierogies in stores, so more people could enjoy her amazing pierogies? In 1952, he did just that.
