Robert L. McAndrew Jr., 56 of McKnight St., Gordon,PA passed away Friday, Dec.16,2016 at his residence in Gordon. Born in Ashland,PA Aug. 29,1960 the son of Mary Ellen (Dolan) McAndrew, Gordon and the late Robert L. McAndrew , died in 1987. He attended North Schuylkill High School and was a truck driver for Mills Transfer and Lally Trucking until becoming ill. He loved fishing and sprint cars.

In addition to his mother surviving are two brothers & two sisters: John McAndrew of Gordon,PA; Tony Herring,Kulpmont, PA; Dawn Herring, Valley View,PA and Stephanie Reho of Valley View, PA. Nieces and nephews survive. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21,2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland. Chaplain Dave Borden officiating.
Visitation Wednesday evening 6:00-7:00 PM from the Funeral Home.

Gracemarie Waskow, 90 of Ashland,PA passed away Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth,PA. Born in Frackville, PA March 14,1926 the daughter of the late George and Nellie (Lindenmuth) Shadle. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg,N.J.; graduated from Frackville High School Class of 1943 and went through Nurses Training. She loved to read and liked animals. She was preceded in death by her first husband William Waskow in 1958 and second husband Charles Ennis in 2003. A sister Nelda Rubright also preceded her in death.

Three sons survive: Rev. Glenn Waskow of Easton,PA., William P. Waskow of Tenstrike,Minn. and Kurt Waskow of Ashland,PA. Four Grandchildren survive:
Ginny, Jennifer, Amy and Susan. Great grandchildren and great grandchildren. Numerous step children and step grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, a
on Thursday, December 22nd, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Glenn Waskow officiating.
Viewing Thursday 12:30-2:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland.
Interment at the convenience of the family. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home,
Ashland is in charge of arrangements.


Robert E. Greenall, 78, of Tamaqua, PA died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Lansford, PA at the home of his son Robert Greenall Jr. A Tamaqua native born on May 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward and Mildred (nee Sipple) Greenall. A 1958 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Bob served in the U.S. Army. He was a real estate agent most of his working life having last been employed by the Dugan Real Estate Agency. Bob was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, PA; a founding member of the Tuscarora RC Club; a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association; and a member of the Schuylkill County Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He is survived by daughter, Robin Zwolenik and her husband Todd of Northampton, PA; son Robert E. Greenall, Jr and his wife Sally of Lansford; grandchildren, Greg Greenall; Dana Greenall, Megan Greenall; Ryan Zwolenik; and Evan Zwolenik; and his significant other, Judith Smith of West Penn Township, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 8 PM on Thursday, December 22 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Marjorie Keiter officiating. Call from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.


Margaret G. Long, 92, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, December 18th, at Laurel Nursing Home, Hamburg.

Margaret was born in Deiberts Valley, Schuylkill Haven, on March 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Susan (Teplon) and John Gaydos.

In addition to her husband, Robert Long, she is preceded in death by a son Gregory Long.
She is survived by a daughter Constance Strause, Auburn; granddaughter Marsha Pietrobono wife of Daniel, Spring Twp., great grandsons Matthew and Andrew Pietrobono; and sister Irene Sabo, Laureldale.

Services an interment are being held privately.


Olga Semanchick, 91, formerly of Frackville and a resident of Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill, Pottsville, passed away peacefully Saturday evening.

Born in Frackville, December 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John P. and Helen Bresnie Semanchik..

Olga was a graduate of the former Frackville High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, New Jersey. In the course of her professional life, she graduated from Columbia University and taught nursing at Rutgers University. She completed graduate school at NYU in elementary education and spent the second half of her career teaching elementary school in Newark, New Jersey.

She was an avid reader and traveler, she generously supported numerous educational, social and medical organizations locally and nationally.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John, sister, Betty Motz, and an infant brother, Russell.

Olga is survived by a brother, Ted; New Port Richey, FL; sisters; Helen Polanchyck, Danville and Sonja Mucha, Hancock, N.H.; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Private Services for immediate family will be held at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville with Rev. James Jadick, as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Ascension Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Olga’s name can be made to Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 209 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931; the Frackville Library; 56 N. Lehigh Ave. Frackville, Pa 17931 or the organization of the donor’s choosing.


Drinda E Swab. age 60, of Hegins, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on Wednesday, November 21, 1956, in Spring Glen, a daughter of Clayton W C Shade and June I Herb Shade of Sacramento.

She had been employed as a seamstress at the former Bobbie Rogers Garment Factory, Wiconisco.

She was a member of the Pine Creek United Methodist Church, Spring Glen.

She was a former Brownie Leader.

Drinda enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Shade.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband Allan L Swab, to whom she was married for 40 years.

She is also survived by two daughters, Bronwen E Whalen and her companion Steve Kleeman of Mar Lin, and Ronica A Troutman and her husband Randy of Valley View; grandsons, Caleb and Blake; granddaughters, Lauren and Eliza; a brother, Marlin Shade of Sacramento; a sister, Diane Labenski of Sacramento; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Pine Creek United Methodist Church, Spring Glen, on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. W. Keith Rockwell officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church.

Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery, Fearnot.
