Rosalie Ann Jacoby, 78, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Wednesday at home with her sons by her side. Born in Pottsville on Sep. 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ida Schweikert. She was a 1956 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of First United Methodist Church in Schuylkill Haven.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband Earl L. Jacoby Jr, grandson Brian Jacoby, and infant sister Joan Schweikert. Surviving are sons Earl Jacoby III and wife Monica of Schuylkill Haven; Kevin Jacoby and wife Jennifer of Elizabethtown, PA; and Jeffery Jacoby and wife Kathy of Melbourne, Florida. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Morgan and Margaret Brunwin, both of California. Rosalie is the proud grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of four.
Rosalie will be remembered by her friends and family for her generous and kind nature, her incredible faith and courage, and her positive attitude about all of life’s challenges. She was a fan of the Washington Redskins and of NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon, facts that were inexplicable to her sons; her love of the Phillies made much more sense. A plaque that hangs in her home proclaims “There is a special place in heaven for the mother of three boys,” a proclamation that is sure to be true. Rosalie will also be remembered as “mom” by 27 little ones she lovingly cared for over a number of years.
Special thanks and God’s blessings are extended to the wonderful staff at the Hershey Medical Cancer Center for their support over the past several years, the kind and caring staff at Covenant Hospice for their help over the past month, and dear friends who lovingly provided care and companionship.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 am Monday, Dec. 12 at First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven, where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 11 am. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service for friends to gather and share memories. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 420 Saylor St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home in Ashland, and interment will be private.
