Denise “Denny” Marrone, 69, of 341A West Mahanoy Ave., Girardviile passed away at home on March 10, 2017.

Born In Philadelphia on October 8, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Alice Koons, step father Tony Matulitis, and father, Joseph McDonald.

Denise was co-owner of Marrone's Café, Girardville. She was an avid reader, loved her garden and was devoted to many beloved pets over the years including her buddy Dexter. She was a former member of Saint Joseph's Church, Girardville, the Catholic Daughters and Cardinal Brennan Mother's Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her companion and best friend Vaughn Werzinsky. 
Denise is survived by her husband James Marrone. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to 5 children and 9 grandchildren including her son Joseph Marrone and his companion Robby Jo Anderson, daughters Cynthia Hampton and her husband John, Angela Lex and her husband Robert, Jessica Vevasis and her husband Joseph, Alicia Lahr and her husband Matthew. She is also survived by grandchildren, Antonio Marrone, Jerry, Scott and Alexis Roche, Joshua Lex, Alyssa and Joey Vevasis, Joshua and Landon Lahr. She is also survived by her close friends and co-workers from Marrone's. 

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Saint Vincent's DePaul, Girardville, sacred worship center of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, with Rev. Edmund Brennan as the celebrant. Interment will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of mass.

Donald R "Hosey" Scheib, age 87, of Dunnellon, FL, formerly of Hegins, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the home of his son in Harrisburg.

He was born on Saturday, February 8, 1930, in Hegins, a son of the late Harold E Scheib and the late Flossie A Huntzinger Scheib.

He was a 1947 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

He was a coal miner and retired as a truck driver for L.S. Geist Trucking, Hegins.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.

Hosey enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his later years quilting.

He is survived by his wife Janice D Otto Scheib, to whom he was married for 69 years.

He is also survived by three sons, Keith D Scheib and his wife Penny of Pageland, SC, Frederick E Scheib and his wife Sharon of Lynchburg, VA, and Eric J Scheib and his wife Katie of Harrisburg; a daughter, Polly A Bolich and her husband Daniel of Sacramento; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Roger Scheib of Birdsboro; two sisters, Sally Gandy of Harrisburg and Nancy Kline of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.

There will be no visitation prior to the service. A gathering with the family will be held at the church following the service.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
