Terry J. Leitzel, 59, formerly of Ashland, PA passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Reading Hospital, Reading, PA.

Born in Ashland, PA September 23, 1957 the son of the late Willard and Elizabeth (Heffner) Leitzel. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church, Ashland, PA where he served as a deacon for some time. He worked at Tri-State Envelope, Ashland and most recently at Rubbermaid, Pottsville. He also was involved with Little League Baseball.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Mary-Anne Gernavage Leitzel, Girardville; oGrandson: Christopher James Leitzel, Mt. Carmel. Four brothers: William, Rickey, David, all of Ashland, and Kevin, Texas. Three sisters: Marianne, Shamokin; Brenda, Shamokin; and Cindy, Ashland.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Ronald, and sister: Dorothy.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville,PA. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangments.

Joyce Schenk, 87, of Ashland, PA died peacefully, Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Born in Centralia, PA July 22, 1929 the daughter of the late Frederick (Fritz) and Dorothy (Walsh) Hughes. She was the oldest of eight children. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Ashland, PA.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert Schenk (1991) and three brothers: Fred, Edward and Donald Hughes. She is survived by two daughters: Patricia wife of George Hoffman, Flowery Branch, GA and Virginia Schenk, Pottsville, PA. Three brothers: Walter Hughes and Charles Hughes, Ashland, James Hughes, Macungie; a sister, Linda McCaffrey, Florida.

Grandchildren: Gretchen Farmer, Va.; Eric Hoffman, Denver, Co. Great grandchildren: Ethan and Gabrielle. With many nieces and nephews, Joyce embraced the role of matriarch to the entire Hughes family. No service will be held at this time. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to Washington Fire Co., Ashland or the Ashland Public Library in memory of Joyce. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
