Baby Diesel Joseph Yelito passed away on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pottsville-Campus.

The son of Louis J. Yelito, and Libby (Hewitt) Yelito. Diesel is also survived by his; brothers, Jager, and Axel Yelito; maternal grandfather, Thomas Hewitt; paternal grandparents, Diane Miller and her husband Terry,and David Yelito.

Curtis J. Steigerwalt, age 87, of Apopka FL, formerly of Tamaqua, PA, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 15, 2017 at Florida Hospital, Altamonte Springs, FL.

Born October 13, 1929 in Tamaqua, the son of the late LaRene and Sallie (Koch) Steigerwalt, he was preceded in death by siblings Pearl, Reba, Grace and Earl, and their spouses. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margery (Marsden) Steigerwalt, sons Gregg, with wife, Sherri, and Mark, grandchildren with their families, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Curt was a 1947 graduate of Tamaqua High School. During his High School career, he was a member of the Basketball Team and, in his Senior year, given the honor of being All State. He earned a scholastic and basketball scholarship to Lafayette College, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He later earned his Master’s degree from Lehigh University.

He served as an Educator and Administrator at Tamaqua Area High School from 1951 until his retirement in 1985. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Following his love of sports, he officiated high school football, high school and collegiate basketball, served on the PIAA Board of Control as the Pennsylvania State Officials Representative and was proudly inducted into County and State Hall of Fames. Especially while in Tamaqua, Curt was an active member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, American Legion and other organizations. He was a member and past Master of Masonic Lodge 238 in Tamaqua, PA. He worshiped at the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua and the Rolling Hills Community Church in Apopka. His church families were always part of his family, and he of theirs. Curt leaves behind many long-time and new-found friends and will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Rolling Hills Community Church, 4407 W. Orange Blossom Trail, Zellwood, FL 32789 on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

Interment Service at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

James B. Reiff, 84,of Germanville Road, Ashland. passed away Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born in Ashland May 29,1933 the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Bolich) Reiff
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Member of Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland; Lavelle Fire Company; Carpenters Union; American Legion Post of Ashland and the V.F.W. Post, Valley View,PA. He graduated from Butler Twp. High School. He worked on construction projects for many years until retirement.
Surviving are his wife Arlene (Hertz) Reiff, Ashland and daughter
Linda wife of Robert Pennypacker of Lavelle, PA. Granddaughter Tara, Lavelle.
Funeral Services will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 2nd, with Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating.
Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Ft. Springs,, PA. Viewing Monday 9:00-11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc., Ashland is in charge.
