Robert D. Johnson, 91, of Pottsville, passed away on Sunday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on April 27, 1926, he was a son of the late Helen (Lord) and Elmer Johnson.

He was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School and 1946 graduate of Bucknell University, where he received a degree in Accounting. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

Robert was an active member of Pulaski #216 Masons Lodge since January 1955; Pottsville Lions; and TPA for 67 years. He enjoyed playing the piano for the residents at Providence Place.

He took over the family business, Johnson's Tires, Pottsville, which his father started in 1940 and retired in 2001.

Robert is survived by a daughter, Barbara L. Mullins, wife of Raymond, of Pottsville; a son, Donald R. Johnson, husband of M. Susan, of Hamburg; sister, Peg Jones, of Pottsville; brother, Elmer Robert Johnson, husband of Sandy, of Minersville; grandchildren: Alicia Mullins, fiance of Chris Costic; Jessica Hunt and Jeremy Hunt; Christopher Johnson, husband of Jessica; Rebecca Collins, wife of Sean; Jamie Fields, wife of Ryan; great grandchildren: Alexandrea Mullins; Luke and Ella Collins; Brandon, Sydney, and Gavin Hunt; and Jackson Fields; great great grandson, Robert Bruce III; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
