Grace Louise Guers (Delker), 85, passed away on November 7, 2017, at home with her family.

Born September 18, 1932, in Port Carbon, PA, Grace Louise was the daughter of the late Charles Delker and Grace (Hanson) Delker. She graduated from Port Carbon High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Guers on March 21, 2017 and her son, Charles D. Guers on June 16, 2004.

She is survived by three children, William L. Guers and wife Marion of Pottsville, daughter-in-law Cindy R. Schucker, Louise Guers Kalymun and husband Michael A. Kalymun of New Philadelphia, and Kristina Guers of Orwigsburg, as well as her grandchildren Pamela Palko, Scott Guers, Valerie Dib, Julie Wilharm, Thomas William Connors, and Katrina Connors, and nine great grandchildren.

She held memberships at the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Port Carbon and the Christian Women’s fellowship. She worked as the business manager with her husband William R. Guers in their business. She enjoyed many crafts and was an avid reader. She loved shopping and giving gifts to others and her family. She will be missed by many.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home 208 Pike Street Port Carbon at 10:30AM on Friday November 10th

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday evening from 6-8PM and Friday morning from 9:30-10:30AM at the funeral home.

William F. Spleen, 73, of Pottsville passed away Tuesday evening at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, June 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Stephen F. and Mary K. Flannery Spleen.

William was a graduate from Pottsville High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a machine operator at Shalmet and worked for Allentown Construction.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s RC Church, Pottsville and the Mid-Atlantic Nomad Association.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen W. Spleen and his loved one, Carol Mohl.

He is survived by daughter, Heather wife of Rich Garrity; granddaughter, Abigail Garrity; Richard Mohl, Jr.; sisters, Sally Joy and Mary Ellen Moyer wife of Daniel, Sr.; brothers, Frank Spleen and Jack Spleen husband of Susan; companion, Natalie Setlock; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11:15 AM at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St, Pottsville. Family and Friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
