LaVonda Popish, RN, 56, of Ringtown, passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 5th, 2017.

LaVonda was born in Lowell, MA on November 21, 1960, a daughter of the late Joyce (Jones) and Marvin Powers.

A former resident of the Lancaster area, she moved to the Ringtown area with her husband, Robert J. Popish, Jr., in the early 1990's.

LaVonda worked in the health care field as a registered nurse for various health care and hospice organizations, as well as being a small business entrepeneur, owning Popish, Inc., a company which found a need to produce and distribute medical personal belongings storage solutions.

In addition to her husband Robert, she is also survived by her step-mother, Ruth Powers of Lancaster, and her siblings including four sisters, Linda, wife of Jeff Harnish, of Lancaster; Laura Schanz, of Lancaster; Lydia, wife of Bob Herr, of Lancaster, and Lois, wife of David Holland, of Georgia. Four brothers, Marvin Powers, and his wife Mary, of Tennessee; Charles Powers, and his wife Cathy, of France; John Paul Powers, and his wife Tammy, of Ephrata and Anthony Powers, and his wife Yuko, of Elizabethtown.

Also surviving are a step sister, Cindy, wife of Mark Whitmer, of Lancaster; and three step brothers, David Doolittle, and his wife Sue, of Lancaster; Dan Doolittle, and his wife Pam, of Illinois and Doug Doolittle, and his wife Sarah, of New York. She is also survived by a sister in-law, Mary Row of Texas and aunts and uncles including Marlene Houston, Max and Shirley Powers and Gloria Jones and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 210 West Green Street, Hazleton at 11 AM on Saturday, November 11th. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church from 9-11 AM prior to the service. A private interment service will be held by LaVonda's family, in accordance with her wishes.

In Lieu of flowers, LaVonda's family asks for Memorial Donations to be made to Charles Powers, in care of Bible Center Ministries International, 201 Granite Run Drive, Suite 260, Lancaster, PA 17601.
