Richard M. Puls, 67, formerly of Frackville passed away on Tuesday evening at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah.

Born in Jersey, City, NJ, he was a son of Elizabeth Tynio Puls, Frackville and her late husband Morris N. Puls. Rich worked as a sprinkler system engineer for T & T Fire Protection Inc., Hollywood, FL.

Rich was a 1968 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. His senior year, he earned the prestigious award of being the school’s scholar athlete and was later inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989. He was a 1972 graduate of Albright College.

Rich was a member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville. He enjoyed playing his accordion and performed for several years with Eddie and the Polkateers.

Before moving back to Frackville, Rich resided in Florida for 30 years. He was blessed to have the continuous support and friendship of his 2nd family; Ted & Terri Dudash and family. For the past 7 years he was a resident at Luther Ridge, Pottsville. He was a familiar face to both staff and residents. Everyone knew him as "The Puzzle Man" as he diligently would work on his puzzles. He enjoyed having friends and family visiting, sharing his puzzles and playing cards. He will always be remembered for his mild manner and contagious smile.

In addition to his mother Liz, Rich is survived by his sister Patricia “Cookie” and her husband Gary Howard, Shenandoah; his brother Dennis Puls and his wife Betty, Frackville; his nephews: Nicholas Reese, Dennis and Keith Puls; his nieces: Kimberly Mentusky and Gina Keller; several great-nieces and nephews.

Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Petro Zvarych, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday morning at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a Parastas service at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made, in Rich’s name, to The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at 1095 NW 14th Terrace #48 Miami, FL 33136 or to the memorial fund of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church at 243 S. Middle Street Frackville, PA 17931.

Ann Sedar, 95, of Frackville, died Friday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Born in Frackville, November 9, 1922, She was a daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Machita) Sedar.

She was a Waitress at Horn & Hardart, NY , NY.

She was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville.

She was preceded in death by 4 sisters Mary Fruge, Helen Palmer, Eva Kobilnyk, Kay Sedar; 2 brothers Adam Sedar and Wassil Sedar.

Surviving are 3 brothers John Sedar of Pottsville; Michael Sedar of Tamaqua; and Paul Sedar of Frackville; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday from Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 209 South Lehigh Avenue Frackville with Very Rev. Archpriest James Jadick officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:00 AM Monday at Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc. 9 N. Lehigh Ave Frackville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ameican Cancer Society 101 W. Frack St. Frackville, PA 17931. Burial will be in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Frackville.

Anna T. Sabadish, 92, of Branchdale, passed away died Friday, December 15, 2017, at The Meadows at York Terrace.

Born in Branchdale, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Sabados/Sokol/Moscow Sabadish. A lifelong Branchdale resident, she was a 1943 graduate of Reilly Township High School. She was employed by the former Meyer-Weiss Company, Pottsville.

She was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Minersville, and a member of the former St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Branchdale.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Joseph Sabadish, and two sisters, Elizabeth Sabadish and Mary Hartranft.

Anna is survived by several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville. Friends may call at the Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville, on Wednesday from 6:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. Interment will be in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Branch Township.

Winifred Lemke, 85, of Llewellyn, died Thursday at The Meadows at York Terrace.

Born in Llewellyn, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth Neidhardt Seiger. She was a 1949 graduate of Branch Township High School.

She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Steins Mill. Winnie was a doting mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, and was especially thrilled when her entire family gathered in her home. She was known in Llewellyn as a thoughtful caregiver to both neighborhood children and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Henry Lemke, in 2015; a daughter, Rhea Jean Konkus, in 2015; two brothers, Raymond and Robert Seiger; a sister, Irene Spangler.

Surviving are four children, George Lemke (Linda), Pine Grove, Faye Reagan, Minersville, Rita Jane Bosack (George), Llewellyn, and Robert Lemke (Julie), Hubert, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 6:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery, Branch Township.
