LeMoyne E. Frantz, 93, went into the arms of the Lord on Sunday morning, April 29, 2018 at his family residence in Rock, Pa.

A graduate of 1942 from Pine Grove High School, LeMoyne was an outstanding FFA member, who achieved many accolades for his work and served in the US Navy as Petty Officer Second Class. He was a member of Salem Hetzel's UCC and served on the Church Consistory; a life member of Mill Run Camp Association, Lycoming County; a member of the American Legion and VFW; and a lifetime member of the Schuylkill County Fair Association. He retired in 1986 after several decades as manager of the Farm Bureau/Agway in Cressona, during which time he was awarded an Honorary Keystone Farmer degree from the Pennsylvania FFA and completed continuing education at Penn State University in retail sales management.

After retirement, LeMoyne continued his work ethic by constructing popular handcrafted picnic tables, wishing wells, and dog houses, as well as traveling with his beloved wife, Betty, to Canada and Florida in their travel home. His passion for hunting and fishing big bass on Singleton Lake in Lyndhurst, Ontario was surpassed only by his love of keeping busy on the farm, mowing grass with the zero turn, and rooting on the Philadelphia Phillies.

Those who knew him will never forget Lee's sharp-witted sense of humor, outgoing personality, and generosity of helping others fix a lawn mower, repair a roof, or empty a cooler. Those who didn't know him would recognize the type of man he was through his devoted and compassionate care of his wife during the last seven years of her life, as well as his commitment to family and friends.

The youngest son of Foster and Elizabeth (nee Herring) Frantz, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty M. (nee Mutschler) Frantz, parents, and brothers, Tennyson, Ira, Russell and Landis and sisters Beulah Hummel, Mary Fegley, and Naomi Nagle. Surviving are children Stephen L. and wife Doris of Pine Grove, Lois E. Gorski of Pottsville; and Daryl F. and wife Jane of Pine Grove.

Grandchildren include Travis Frantz and wife Marissa, Pine Grove; Tamara Lesh and husband Andrew, Pine Grove; Tyler Frantz and wife Erin, Annville; Talia Doud and husband Nash, Pine Grove; Shane Shadle, Orwigsburg, Christopher Shadle and spouse Ben, Catasaqua; Jennifer Gorski, Pottsville; Carrie Lauer and husband David of Breinigsville; Katrice Kimmel, Pine Grove; Wyatt Frantz and wife Amanda, Rising Sun, Maryland. Great-grandchildren include Briar Frantz, Mackenzie, Mariah and Mitchell Lesh, Foster Frantz, Kailey Shadle, Blake and Luke Kimmel, Jackson and Belle Frantz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hetzel's UCC, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd., Pine Grove with Pastor Jill Bierwirth officiating. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hetzel's UCC and Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Church. All services will be held in the social hall at Hetzel's UCC. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Pine Grove Chapter of FFA c/o Pine Grove Area High School, 101 School St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 (checks payable to PGASD with FFA written in memo) or to Salem Hetzel's Chair Lift Fund, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd.
