Jeremiah M. Shellhammer, 68 of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at home 

Born Monday, February 13, 1950 in New Ringgold, Pennsylvania son of the late Kermit and Hattie (Phillips) Shellhammer. He was also predeceased by sisters, Carol Fredericks, Phyllis Gernert, and Darlene Moyer. 

Jeremiah is survived by friends, nieces, and nephews as well as in-laws.

Claire A. Dando, 84, Girardville passed away peacefully Monday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Helen Mealey McDonald. She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Girardville.

Claire was a proprietor of the Sons of Italy, Girardville and also worked as a hairdresser for the McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas Court St. Cecelia, Girardville, the former Cardinal Brennan Ladies Auxiliary, a gold card member of the Borgata, Atlantic City and was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame and the Philadelphia Phillies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Dando in 2013, her son Stephen Dando, her four brothers: Robert, Francis, Maurice and William McDonald, her two sisters: Rosemary Donlevy and Dorothy Horan.

The last member of her immediate family, Claire is survived by her eight loving children: Claire Salukas, wife of Josie, Girardville; William (B) Dando, Harrisburg; Tim Dando and wife Jean, Frackville; Jack Dando, Girardville; Cathy Dyszel, Girardville; Patty Gregas, Girardville; Sandy Selgrade, wife of Todd, Girardville; Michael Dando, Hershey; sister-in-law Janet McDonald, Girardville; 22 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville with Rev. Paul Rothermel, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday evening at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 8:30 until 9 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Boyd L Wedde, age 82, of Providence Place, Pine Grove, formerly of Hegins, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital E Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

He was born on Friday, November 29, 1935, in Barry Twp, a son of the late Luther V Wedde and the late Anna M Hinkel Wedde.

He was a 1953 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

Boyd retired from Bethlehem Steel, Steelton.

He was a member of St. John's "Kimmel's" Church, Ashland.

His first wife Beverly N Starr Wedde passed away in 1979.

He is survived by his second wife Grace M Kembel Wedde, to whom he was married for 36 years.

He is also survived by a son Randall A Wedde of Carlisle; four daughters, Barbara S Huntsinger and her husband Darrell of Valley View, Rose M Huntzinger of Lititz, Molly A Masser of Annville, and Peggy A Snyder and her husband Russell of Elizabethville; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Harry Wedde of Ashland; two sisters, Annetta Troup and Margaret Mitchell both of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be made in St. John's "Kimmel's" Cemetery, Ashland.

Dorothy Watkins, 76 years of age of Bull Run Street, Seek Section of Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Blue Mountain Health Systems - Lehighton Campus. 

Survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Harold T. Watkins; daughter, Lee Ann Coxe wife of William of Tamaqua; grand children, Tyler Watkins, and Ryan Coxe. 

Born Saturday, August 2, 1941 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Edward, and Lenore (Weaver) Webb. Dorothy was also predeceased by; son, Barry D. Watkins; grandson, Bryn Watkins; step-father, Delmar E. Gould. 

A 1959 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Dorothy was a needle artist accomplished in knitting, quilting, sewing, crocheting. Dorothy loved to read and spend time with her family.

Yvonne L. May, 82, of Lavelle, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Yvonne was born in Lavelle, on April 18, 1936, a daughter of the late Thelma (Weikel) and George Schlorff.

She was the widow of Jackie May who passed away December 22, 2002.

Yvonne graduated from the Ashland High School.

She was the oldest living member of the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene where she was a Sunday School teacher for 40 years.

She was employed as a waitress for many years and also babysat.

Yvonne is survived by, two sons Leroy L., husband of Gail May, of Ashland; Gary R., husband of Katie May, of MD; a daughter, Cindy L. May, of Lavelle; three grandchildren, Samuel, Leah, Christopher; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by a sister Helen Wolfgang.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9-11 AM at the with the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeremy Smallwood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Memorial Cemetery, Lavelle.
