Josephine Peel, 90, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Friday, June 22nd, peacefully, at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.

Josephine was born in Mahanoy City, PA on November 21, 1927, a daughter of the late Katherine (Morba) and Andrew Dziadosh.

She was a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City.

Josephine graduated from Mahanoy City High School.

She had worked for many years at the former City Shirt in Mahanoy City.

She was wife of the late John Peel.

She is preceded in death by brothers John, Frank, Joseph, Albert, Edward and sisters Mary Ryan, Helen Kotch, Elizabeth, Kowalik, Francine Smiely, Rose Jadosh. She was the last of her immediate family, and is survived by nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 amon Tuesday, June 26th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday 9am at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.

Kathryn J. Brennan, 95, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Minersville, passed away on Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill – East.

Born in Minersville, she was a daughter of the late Generoso and Maria Caputo Tarantino. She was a 1941 graduate of Minersville High School; and had worked in the local garment industry.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. She was also a member of ILGWU.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Beep” Brennan, in 1989; three siblings, Louis Tarantino, Stella Tarantino and Concetta “Tina” DiLazzaro.

Kathryn is survived by six children, Richard McNamara (spouse, Diane), Summerville, South Carolina; Virginia “Ginny” Davis, Charleston, South Carolina; Robert Brennan, Jr., (spouse, Shirley), Lebanon; Kathleen Staller (companion, Walter Sponhouse), Schuylkill Haven; Norman Brennan (spouse, Laura), Woodland Hills, California; and Cheryl Brennan (companion, Ryan Winch), Saint Clair. She had eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ramona Seger, Shamokin; nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 7:30 P.M. Interment will be private in St. Barbara Cemetery, Branch Township. The family prefers contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 3009 Market St., Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Helen M. (Seroka) Chatcavage, 89, of Pennsylvania Ave., Shenandoah Heights, passed away peacefully Friday morning at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.

Born in Shenandoah on June 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Swies) Seroka.

Helen was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church. She was also a member of the Rosary Society of the parish and Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward F. Chatcavage Sr., in February 2007; her son-in-law, Stanley G. “Sonny” Kayesuski, in May 2014; three brothers and three sisters.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan Kayesuski, Shenandoah Heights; two sons, Edward F. Chatcavage Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Harrisburg, and John Chatcavage and his wife, Beth Ann, Oak Island, N.C.; two grandchildren, Derek Chatcavage and Colleen Chatcavage, both of Harrisburg; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of arrangements.
